Sunnyside Elementary School is located in Bedford, Nova Scotia. Sunnyside has an enrolment of 350 students divided among two sites. Fort Sackville site welcomes Primary and Grade One French Immersion students and Eaglewood Drive site has Grade Primary to Grade 6 English and Grade 2 to Grade 6 French Immersion. When students begin their learning here they can enter grade Primary in either the English program or early French Immersion. We are proud to be the only school to provide the early French Immersion program in the community of Bedford.
Students at Sunnyside can participate in a variety of extracurricular activities to enhance their school experience, such as, but not limited to: intramurals, choir, reading club, running club, recycling club, and student leadership.
Our parents are actively involved in their children’s education in a variety of volunteer capacities including serving on a vibrant Home and School Association and School Advisory Council.
We have a very dedicated staff who work hard to ensure that our students have a positive learning experience at Sunnyside. Throughout the year, we host many events to celebrate student learning and to encourage student participation.
